Our Museum
Our Museum
The group of citizens that came together in 2021 to save the train station has grown and officially became a non-profit and charitable organization in 2023.
From the beginning, we dreamed of something bigger than just restoring the building. We wanted the station to become a place to share the history of Embrun and the region — a place that helps build a strong, connected community, one that celebrates its past and brings together seniors, youth, longtime residents, and newcomers alike.
The best way to do that: the creation of the Embrun Historical Museum.
We want to honour our elders, recognize and celebrate the efforts of previous generations, and help foster a sense of belonging and pride among all residents for their town.
The Russell and District Historical Society established the Keith M. Boyd Museum, which highlights the history of Russell. Their board has been incredibly supportive, and we’re proud to work alongside them to help share the history of our region.
As the saying goes:
“To know where you’re going, you must first know where you come from.”
That idea inspires us to create the Embrun Historical Museum — for you, for us, for everyone.
